Advanced Power Electronics Corp. is a strong supporter of the various industry initiatives to reduce the use of hazardous substances in electronic manufacturing. As part of our commitment to responsible manufacturing and a clean environment, we continue to expand the number of products produced with a halogen-free (HF) molding compound as a "greener" alternative in line with the direction of many of our customers. All of our products have been Pb-free and RoHS-compliant for several years and many of the products newly introduced since 2008 are halogen-free also.

These halogen-free products are compliant with the requirements of IEC61249-2-21, JPCA-ES01 2003, and IPC1401. Maximum halogen levels are well below the required limits of <900pmm chlorine (Cl), <900ppm bromine (Br), and <1500ppm total halogens.

As we convert products over to HF, there will be a change in part number and ordering information to identify the part as halogen-free, for example, AP2303GN-3 becomes AP2303GN-HF-3.

Samples and appropriate documentation are available where re-qualification is necessary. Please note that electrical and thermal performance are not impacted by this change.

Along with providing product-specific Material Composition Declarations based on the IPC1752 standard upon request, we also have available a REACH declaration for those customers who need formal confirmation of the absence of those hazardous substances (SVHC) identified under REACH (EU Regulation No.1907/2006).
